Welcome New Partner, Odysseus Arms

We’re excited to welcome a new partner, Odysseus Arms, to the Worldwide Partners network! Odysseus Arms is a woman-owned, results-driven creative agency founded in 2012. While they respect the “big idea”–Odysseus Arms believes that learning from and establishing an intimate connection with real people–the actual consumers who are excited about advising, collaborating and refining the work–is what truly creates results, especially in our social media-drive world.

“While data is a record of where you’ve been, a rearview mirror, it can’t tell you where to go next,” says Eric Dunn, Managing Director of Odysseus Arms. There’s where real people come in, and where Odysseus Arms shines. Leveraging their fearless approach to consumer collaboration and empathy, they spend 100 hours with real consumers before presenting any work to clients. This work is then put through the ringer in the real world, using continual data-driven iteration to find the messages and content that resonate most with consumers.

Several big name brands swear by Odysseus Arms’ approach, including E. & J. Gallo Winery, NBC/Universal, Foster Farms, Kodak and HotelTonight. A recent campaign for HotelTonight is a perfect example. Through their consumer insight-led process, they honed in on the fact that people love going home for the holidays, but don’t love staying with their families. They want to be close enough to enjoy time with loved ones while being able to have their own space to escape to. From this insight, Odysseus Arms developed HotelTonight’s “Visit, don’t stay” campaign, which generated a CTR 25x Google’s category benchmark, drove booking 30% above goal and, let’s face it, is something we can all relate to!

Being headquartered in San Francisco, Odysseus Arms in smack-dab in the heart of Technology and Startup Central. This provides them daily exposure to and inspiration from an extremely innovative and diverse population, helping them to re-evaluate cultural norms and standards to better the human condition and better their clients’ campaigns.

Odysseus Arms is excited to be a WPI Partner to “gain instant access to global insights about creative work and consumer behaviors,” says Dunn. This access to insights and global teams will allow them “to bring a more nuanced and useful approach to creative development for our client partners.” Odysseus Arms has already benefited from their membership, utilizing the WPI network for insights and feedback for a pitch with XOOM, PayPal’s online money transfer service, and working closely with R&R Partners for to win content work for E. & J. Gallo’s Barefoot Wine brand.
