Atomic Sport Publishes “The Rights Holder Manifesto”

Written By: Angie Pascale

Partner Agency Atomic Sport in Dublin, Ireland are fanatics when if comes to sports. Not only cheering on their favorite teams, but also helping clubs, athletes and organizations that deliver sport as a business to grow and prosper. And they believe one of the best ways to achieve this growth is through sponsorships.

But sponsorships are not easy. The landscape that rights holders are dealing with today is very different than it was ten, five, even one year ago. An over-saturated sponsorship market, data overload, demands for increased activations and value at lower cost, endless haggling over rights–these are just a few of the challenges facing rights holders in today’s market.

That’s why Atomic Sport has published “The Rights Holder Manifesto,” a considered view on a brave new outlook for clubs, athletes, events and sports organisations.

“After much time spent working with Commercial Directors in sport, we at Atomic Sport understand and believe in the potential of sponsorship to invigorate and transform brands and businesses,” says Patrick Murphy, Director at Atomic Sport.

He goes on to identify the oversight at the heart of many sponsorship sales processes, “From our experience in sport, we’ve seen many rights holders sell hard to unmotivated buyers. What we haven’t seen is rights holders who consider the multiple touchpoints which are part of a successful sales process. It is that creativity and planning that Atomic Sport bring to their clients in pursuit of game-changing sponsorships.”

Atomic Sport is committed to helping sport organizations acquire the partnerships that are required to deliver commercial and sporting success. Many of their clients are sports clubs and organizations with global fanbases, such as PGA European Tour, Football Association of Ireland (FAI), WIGGINS, Rory McIlroy and Leinster Rugby. In acquiring and servicing global sponsors, they require on-the-ground insight, intelligence and support from in-market agencies. This support can be in the form of positioning rights holders to engage with local brands, or collaboration in bringing regional sponsorships to life via creative activation strategies.

For other partners in the WPI network who work with a major sporting organisation, Atomic Sport can help accelerate their commercial programs. Likewise, if you have deep expertise in activating sports sponsorships for brands, Atomic Sport is available to discuss opportunities with their international clients.
